  • Student Sport

    All the sessions in the downloadable content below are free of charge and for all of you to have a go no matter your skill level.

    All session are run by professional coaches who can help you develop you into what you would like to be.

    If you would like to take part in a sport or physical activity that is not currently available please get in touch with Eddie Walker for more information.

  • The Gym

     

    At the Inspire Centre there is nothing we want nothing more than for students to live a healthy lifestyle, thats why for £30 per acedemic year you can be a gym member. If you would like to include free access to all classes in your membership, the price is £50 per academic year.

    To become a member please visit the Inspire reception where you will be asked to fill in a form. Once the form is complete and you have paid your membership fee we will book you an induction with our personal trainer. Once you've completed the induction you'll be ready to go!

  • Development Centres

    We offer Development Centre's in Football, Rugby and Cricket through our partnerships with Halifax Town Football Club, Halifax Rugby League and Pro Coach Cricket. 

    The Centre's of excellence provides students with a chance to
    play sport and experience life as a full time professional. Teams will play in
    the ECFA and AOC Yorkshire & Humberside league which is renowned for
    developing players. There are also opportunities to represent other elite teams
    such as the British Colleges National Squad. Throughout the year, the tutors and coaches will monitor the progress of each player both on and off the field and parent reviews will be in place to keep the parents regularly updated on his/her progress and create an exit route from the centre of excellence.

    Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction (QCF)

    This qualification provides the knowledge and skills to enable learners to plan, deliver and evaluate safe and effective gym or studio sessions. This qualification will provide entry onto the Register of Exercise Professionals at Level 2 and can be achieved in the context of gym or exercise to music.

    Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training (QCF)

    This qualification gives learners the knowledge and skills to work with individual and groups of client in a personal training setting. Successful achievement of the qualification will allow the learner to gain employment within an organisational setting, or alternatively in a self-employed environment.

    It also provides access onto The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) at level 3.

    Course: Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing

    Cost: £650

    Qualifications needed: This qualification is open to all

    Some experience of gym-based exercises, including free weights, or experience of studio-based exercise classes is highly recommended

    Optional Course

    Course: Level 2 Certificate in Exercise to Music

    Course start date: TBC

    This qualification is open to learners that have completed the Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing.

    Some experience of studio-based exercise classes is highly recommended

    Course: Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training

    Qualifications needed: A suitable Level 2 qualification in Gym Instructing

    The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary. There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) and application of number involved, and learners should have basic skills in communication and application of number pitched at levels 3 and 2 respectively.
